Zombieland – review

I could say this is the next best thing of zombie-comedy after Shaun of The Dead :))

In the post apocalyptic-diseased world which leave pretty much nothing but zombies, Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg) a phobic-geek, has survived thanks to his set of rules. These includes:

– Cardio (because the fat bastards have no chance of running from zombies. LOL!)
– Double Tap (make sure you shot twice. Aim for head :)) )
– Beware of Bathroom
– Wear Seatbelts
– Travel Light
– (Don’t) Be a hero
– Limber Up
– When in doubt, know your way out
– Check the back seat

When he went to Ohio to search his family, he met Tallahasse (Woody Harrelson. ‘Natural Born Killer’ in comedic way, literally :)) ) a redneck who has a flair in killing zombies & longing for a goddamn Twinkie. These odd-couple finally teamed up on their way to the south. Til swindler-sister Wichita (Emma Stone) and Little Rock (Abigail Breslin) tricked them and took their truck & weapons. Twice. :)) Since it’s better to stick together at this kinda situation, they finally made the truce. Stopping byΒ  California, they decided to crash on Bill Murray”s mansion at Beverly Hills.

And yes, the man made an appearance. A HILARIOUS one, that is. :))

Fun fact: Columbus, Tallahasse, Wichita & Little Rock are not their real names. The character’s identify themselves using place name, intentionally.

Well, if we put the cliche of wimp geek-in love-with-the-heroine aside, overall Zombieland is a light, ridiculously funny comedy, definitely worth the gag. But it also holds enough gore, so for you zombies fanboy, this won’t let you down either :p . 8.5/10

last but not least, Columbus’s rule #32

‘Enjoy the little things’πŸ˜‰

‘…and a little sunscreen never hurt anybody’

Memorable quotes:

Tallahassee: I’m not great at farewells, so uh… that’ll do, pig.
Columbus: That’s the worst goodbye I’ve ever heard. And you stole it from a movie.

Tallahassee: Where are the fucking Twinkies?

Little Rock: Who’s Bill Murray?
Tallahassee: …I’ve never hit a kid before… I mean, that’s like asking who Gandhi is.
Little Rock: Who’s Gandhi?
